Book Review: Interpreter of Maladies

I enjoyed this Pulitzer Prize winning collection of short stories by Jhumpa Lahiri. Her writings touch universal and timeless themes from novel and contemporary contexts. Her stories explode with the emotions surrounding homesickness, old age, death, new marriage, infidelity, cultural assimilation, and betrayal both real and imagined. Yet she has a light touch and uses simple language. Also impressive was her ability to tell stories from male as well as female points of view.
